The four-semester master’s degree goes into the knowledge acquired in the Electrical Engineering bachelor programme (six semesters) in more depth. The entire master’s degree programme comprises 120 ECTS credits.
In the technical part of the course, there will be an in-depth training in one of the two following specialist focuses:
* Energy technology and automation engineering, or
* Information and communications technology, and electronic engineering
In the economics part of the course, special attention is paid to management basics and management tools and are supplemented by a broad range of social and soft skills. In this way, training in the master’s programme can be optimally adapted to the intended career. This interdisciplinary course of studies is meant to enable graduates to include economic and social factors as well as predictable consequences for the environment in solving technical problems.
Graduates will be awarded the academic degree of “Diplom-Ingenieurin” or “Diplom-Ingenieur”, which is internationally equivalent to a “Master of Science” (“MSc”).
Working as an Electrical and Business Engineer
Climate, the problem of energy resources and distribution as well as access to information are central challenges of the coming generation in science, economy and society. Graduates of Electrical and Industrial Engineering are optimally prepared for the technical and economic implementation of the prodigious investments required in infrastructure due to their well-founded interdisciplinary specialised knowledge and their critical understanding. Graduates find their specific area of activity in particular in the electricity industry, electrical engineering and energy-intensive industry, communications services sector (network operators, mobile communications, internet providers), software development companies and electronics firms.
