The master’s programme in Molecular Microbiology consists of a single stage of study and lasts a total of four semesters. Prerequisite for this master’s programme is a bachelor’s degree in e.g. Molecular Biology (6 semester); educational focus is on current and future-oriented subject areas in microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology and analysis. The theoretical studies are supplemented in expanded practicals. The entire master’s degree programme comprises 120 ECTS credits. Graduates of the master's programme are awarded the degree of Master of Science (MSc).
Working as a Microbiologist
A master’s degree in the field of Molecular Microbiology opens the door to a variety of interesting activities in both basic and applied research in universities and in industry and the public sector. Graduate are chiefly to be found in leading positions in pharmaceutical research, foodstuffs technology, in the medical pathological field and environmental microbiology.
