The four-semester master's programme trains materials scientists in all aspects of the development, characterisation and application of new materials. The development of new materials can be regarded as a foundation on which to open up future-oriented applications. A prerequisite for this is an interdisciplinary knowledge of chemistry, physics and engineering and this is acquired in the master's programme. An area of concentration can be chosen from the fields of "Metallic and Ceramic Materials", "Semiconductor Process Engineering and Nanotechnology" and "Polymer Sciences and Plastics Engineering."
