The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1995. It is a young university with more than 5,600 students, approximately 131 professors and 156 research associates. They are supported by more than 230 highly qualified lecturers from the fields of academia, business and industry. An additional 137 employees work for the Administration, the Library and the Language Centre. The University campus is located in Hennef, Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin. In Bonn, the University of Applied Sciences runs the B-IT Universities Institute of the Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology jointly with Bonn University and Aachen Technical University (RWTH). The University Development Plan (Hochschulentwicklungsplan, HEP) contains the strategic objectives that our University intends to achieve by 2015 as well as the concrete measures taken to reach these goals - with the main motive being sustainability.

Services & Facilities
The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has an excellent technical infrastructure at its disposal, well-equipped laboratories and PC pools with Internet access.
Central facilities
In our University and Community Libraries in Sankt Augustin, Rheinbach and Hennef you can borrow the most modern media, even as a guest user. The university´s own Language Centre offers both general and specialist language courses. Both campuses have language labs containing CALL software (Computer-Assisted Language Learning).

Laboratories and studios
The buildings in Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin are new, having been erected between 1997 and 1999. Since 1999 they have been extended and further equipped, so that the laboratories and studios are very modern and represent the latest in technology. The students at our University learn in technical surroundings very similar to those found in the workplace, and very up-to-date.
PC pools
Students receive their own e-mail address through the University and can call up their exam results over the Net. They also have practically round-the-clock access to the PC pools and project rooms, which can also be used for work outside the regular opening times.
The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was awarded the basic certification "Family-Friendly University Audit" on 26 March 2007.
The Family-Friendly University Audit is a strategic management instrument designed by the charitable Hertie Foundation (gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung GmbH) in co-operation with Trier University. It is aimed at combining the University's administrative interests with its students' and employees' family commitments.
The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was awarded the basic certification for providing the existing facilities to support students and employees alike. The range of facilities offered will be further developed and supplemented in the next three years. The re-audit is scheduled to take place in 2010.

Rooms in student halls of residence
The Studentenwerk Bonn (Bonn Student Administration Service) offers good value lodgings in its 33 halls of residence. All rooms are connected to Bonn University´s computer centre and are provided with internet access, included in the rent.
In 2004, work was completed on new halls of residence in Rheinbach (Keramikerstraße 38) and in Sankt Augustin (Europaring). They contain furnished studio flats for university employees and students, right on the doorstep of Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University. Each flat is 20 - 30 m² in size and is furnished in modern style, with a kitchenette, bathroom and high-speed internet access.
