Methods Value-oriented Values are discovered and conveyed through interaction between biblical and Christian beliefs and social issues and problems. Focus is on the biblical message of Jesus Christ and the welfare of humanity and our world.

Scientific FAU applies scientific methods based on the freedom of research and instruction, in keeping with our responsibility to basic Adventist convictions.

Practice oriented Research findings are regularly put into practice and modelled in internships, seminars and international projects.

Interdisciplinary FAU engages in interdisciplinary research. Students benefit from participation in lectures from different departments, thematic ring lectures, interdisciplinary events and joint publications.

Intercultural FAU is open to students with other world views, provided they desire a Christian education and accept the principles of the university. Instructors and students are expected to respect the social, religious and cultural background of others and the dignity of all people. The presence of students from various countries, different religions and world views, intercultural topics for seminars and theses as well as international practical training - all promote a dialogue of cultures in the context of theology and social science.

Together Instructors and students form a spiritual and academic community. Studying and researching together, Church services and prayer, counselling and helping one another deepen relationships.
