Ranked among the top ten business schools in Switzerland (Eduniversal), the International University in Geneva (IUG) is an accredited academic institution specialising in business education. The University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration, International Relations, Media and Communication and International Trade.

The curriculum features a unique combination of theoretical and practical instruction, with a particular focus on international business practices. The international exchange program offers an opportunity for students to study at renowned universities worldwide.

Located in Geneva, Switzerland, at the centre of Europe and a hub for international politics and business, the campus is close to the airport and about 5 km from the city centre. The IUG has students representing over 60 nationalities those providing a truly multicultural setting.

Services & Facilities

The University Library has a large collection of over 2500 books and publications available to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty. This stock is continuously updated to offer students and faculty the latest scholarly publications for their research.

Career service

Good career decisions require good information about personal strengths and weaknesses, preferences and interests and about the working environment. The International University in Geneva provides for Career Counselling to assist students to:

Student Council

The International University in Geneva has a strong student council active in areas such as social activities, community service and advocacy. Weekly meetings are held to resolve student issues and to recommend and implement changes to the current student environment. Specific activities include preparing the annual yearbook, community service events with the United Nations and UNICEF, and cultural excursions in Switzerland and beyond.

Student Life

The city is host to numerous international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the World Health Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the International Committee for the Red Cross and many others. It is often referred to as the capital of peace and diplomacy.

Geneva is also home to global multinationals, which have chosen the city for their global headquarters due to the excellent logistical network and the central location, one hour by air from London, Paris, Brussels and Milan.

Geneva is a window on the world of technology and is home to the major world leaders such as Hewlett-Packard, Richemont, Procter & Gamble, Caterpillar, Oracle, Givaudan and Du Pont de Nemours. The International Telecommunication Union and Reuters’ European communication centre have chosen Geneva as their headquarters. The CERN, located outside Geneva, is where the World Wide Web was invented. Geneva is also known as one of the world’s major international financial centres, particularly for the management of private capital assets.

The quality and variety of Geneva’s cultural life, with its numerous theatres, museums and international conferences, makes it the right place to obtain a global education.

The city is a showcase for the most celebrated names in fashion, jewellery and watch-making, and is home to Rolex and Patek Philippe, among many others.
Ideally situated on the shores of Lake Leman at the foot of the Alps, Geneva also offers excellent outdoor sporting activities.

Finally, the city’s cosmopolitan character, with nearly 150 nationalities from all around the world, makes everyone feel at home.

The International University in Geneva has developed a series of sports and recreational activities accessible to students and staff of the University, as well as members of the alumni community. Social events, such as dinners and ski weekends, are organised with the support of the Student Council.

The University has also arranged for special student rates at nearby sports clubs, for activities such as tennis and swimming, and general fitness among others.

Housing

The University administration provides assistance to students looking for housing or apartments.
