The Université François-Rabelais is open to the world and its diverse cultures, and invests in the international scene. It has forged partnerships with 200 European universities in 26 countries, 300 Erasmus agreements, around twenty active cooperation programmes with North American universities and agreements with Australia, Asia, South America, etc.
It creates host programmes, including special language improvement courses and study in chosen field which make it possible to obtain national degrees.
The university is also involved in establishing French-speaking cannels abroad and in preparing national degrees that lead to professional opportunities. It works with universities in Poland, Brazil, Vietnam, Morocco and the Lebanon.
The partnership with foreign universities is also characterised by international partnership degrees. This means that teaching is provided in two languages and two universities, with successful students being awarded a double degree (one from each university). A student can therefore follow a course in Tours, then in Bochum (Germany), in French and German, and gain a degree validated by the Franco-German University: a double opportunity!
In addition, the Université François-Rabelais participates in numerous European and international research networks, in particular through projects funded by the European Commission, such as the 7th Framework Programme.
